This step is so imperative to determine if you’re a candidate for a hair transplant. Schedule an appointment with a dermatologist as soon as you can, it may take two to three weeks to receive your results.
Know what form of alopecia you are diagnosed with. All hair transplant doctors will ask this question. Having your diagnosis/results will come in handy.
Research the various types of hair transplant methods and choose the one that will yield the best results for your hair type.
Secondly, know the timeline for healing and expectations during your procedure will all vary depending on which method you select.
Cosmetic doctors can specialize in other types of plastic surgery, such as facial and body contouring, breast enhancement, etc.

Find a doctor with extensive experience in hair transplant surgeries and proven results.
This step will reduce the amount of time you spend in consultation with your hair transplant doctor.
Find out what previous patients are saying. In addition, take the time to review before & after photos and videos…you will save yourself a lot of time and regret.
Above all, this is critical and will determine how your experience will be and how successful your suture or incisions heal.
Lastly, hair transplants are considered cosmetic surgery, in most cases, medical insurance may not cover it.
